The classic race and excitement on the speedway will be one of its kinds with 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona qualifying for the grid well in advance of the start that will take place on Saturday. Its phrase “Position is everything” perfectly reflects the thrill and action that will be seen on the International Speedway with all competitors creating a lot of action at the historic 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona race. The combination of the race and the golden anniversary certainly calls for celebration time.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona features Oswaldo Negri, Jr. (Miami, FL), who has earlier also shown his tremendous performance in 2008 by setting a lap record and also continued to make a mark in 2010. He will be driving number sixty, Ford Riley DP for Michael Shank Racing. The car is showing great balance but still the speed is in question. He told that to keep things on stronger forefront the most important thing required is the speed. The driver’s line-up seems strong and interesting with A. J. Allmendinger (Denver, Colo.), Justin Wilson (UK) and John Pew (North Palm Beach, Fla.). Oswaldo Negri surely wants to keep things at the right place to get the trophy and the Rolex timepiece on his hand.

oswaldo-negriRyan Dalziel (Orlando, Fla.) managed to earn his first ever career pole in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series by driving the number eight Starworks Motorsports Ford Riley. He has already won a Rolex 24 At Daytona championship in the year 2010. It was a great day for The 2011 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series DP Champion to qualify for the position. Whereas, for Max Angelelli (Monaco) it was not a very pleasant day as a small difference of 0.121 seconds separated him from getting the DP pole position.

The ultimate rivalry between Porsche and Ferrari was seen in the revival stage at the qualifying session. Andrew Davis (Bogart, Georgia), Racing’s number 59 Porsche GT3 set the pole with a time of 1:49:342 whereas, Jeff Segal (Miami, Fla.) in the AIM Autosport Team‘s number 69 Ferrari 458 set at the pole with a time of 1:49:357. It was an amazing scenario that had speeds fighting at the speedway. However, the qualifying brought a new experience for Jeff Segal. He said that it is a great platform and they have a great car and on top of it strong preparation to win. There are a number of last minute updates that they have introduced and they surely have good chance in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. It will surely be a great time at the race and celebrations of its anniversary.
