Exide Technologies Junior Open Boasts Of An Elite Roster Of Rolex Players

The Country Club of the South in Johns Creek will have around 78 junior golfers from Georgia and all around the nation competing in Exide Technologies Junior Open. The field will consist of Rolex championship winners. The American Junior Golf Association will stage the competition from the 15th of April to the 17th. The roster of the tournament is surely one of the most powerful on AJGA Open schedule. It includes 8 Rolex Junior All-Americans along with National Letters of Intent which is signed by 13 players.  The 78 player field will have 32 juniors from Georgia and 13 from states even Mexico will be represented in the game by some players. The boys’ division will be led by Billy Kennerly. The young player is a native of Alpharetta and has won the Rolex Junior All-American championship twice.  The Clemson commit has finished at top ten positions 13 times in national junior golf competition. He recently finished at the fifth position with a tie at HP Boys’ Championship that took place at Carlton Woods. The event was AJGA invitation only event.

Billy Kennerly, who is a senior at Mount Pisgah Christian School, finished as a runner up at Technologies Junior Open in the year 2009 and 2010. He will be looking forward to his 1st AJGA victory in this tournament. Also aiming for the victory at the championship will be J.D. Tomlinson who is from Gainesville, Fla. He is also the highest ranked player in the field and currently holds 20th position in Polo Golf Rankings. Last year he received 2nd Team Rolex Junior All-America honors after winning at TaylorMade-Adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook and also three top 20 finishes. On the other hand in girls division Simin Feng from Orlando, Fla. will take part in the event this year to defend the title she won last year. She is currently at the 37th position in Polo Golf Rankings. The young player is a double winner of Rolex Junior All-American.Rolex She also has three victories in AJGA career that also includes the ANNIKA Invitational that she won in the year 2009. The girls division for the match also has a lot of potential and the fans can expect to see some very competitive golfing on the field.

The players include Mariah Stackhouse from Riverdale, who is a junior at North Clayton High School. She has also won two AJGA events early in her career. She is at par with her male counterpart and has won the Rolex Junior All-American twice. In the Exide Technologies Junior Open that took place last year she grabbed the third position. That much deserved win was followed by 4 top ten finishes in the national competition that was held last year. It included a win at AJGA Junior at Steelwood which was presented by AT&T. With such talented players on field the match is surely going to be a treat for the spectators.
